2012 was a huge year for music, with some of our favorite albums in years being released over the course of the past twelve months. This is an extremely diverse list, but we think that each of these artists deserves their place in our lineup of the top albums of 2012. 1. Frank Ocean – channel ORANGE
What more needs to be said about this album that hasn’t already been said? It’s a masterpiece, and definitely the album listened to most this year at Classist.net. There is not a bad track on the album, and it just gets better the more you listen to it.
The standouts are “Pink Matter”, featuring the smooth flow of Outkast frontman Andre 3000, “Pyramids”, an almost ten minute epic that flows from soulful R&B to electronic bass beats and back, and “Bad Religion”, an organ-backed backseat-of-a-cab confessional anthem.
